January - 2009 - Newsletter

From the East: Mike Troutman

Greetings from the East!

Brothers,

I would like to take this time to say how grateful and humble I feel to be selected as the Master of Catawba Masonic Lodge this upcoming year.  I have some big shoes to fill and it is truly an honor to serve you in this capacity.  I will not be able to individually thank everyone that needs to be thanked in this letter for their influences on my Masonic journey.  To all of the Past Masters and those who continue to support the officers at practices and degrees, I am most appreciative of you efforts.  I have watched you closely and I have learned a great deal from you all in how you present yourselves as men and masons.  I hope I can live up to that.  I would like to thank my current officers and committee members for agreeing to serve with me this year.  I could not ask for better people to work with.

In looking ahead to the upcoming year at Catawba Lodge No. 56, I have several ideas that I would like to implement.  Most are a continuation of the past few years in moving forward in our growth as a lodge.  I would like to have the type of year that continues to bring in several new members to our lodge.  In looking at where we are now and where we would like to be by the end of the 2009 year.

From the West: Josh Welch

Greetings from the West!

We did well with our Annual Lodge Banquet project thanks to all that helped. Our Treasurer tells us we may need to find some additional projects to keep our income equal to our expenses. If there is anything reasonably Masonic that you would like to put into our newsletter, please let us know. Please have a petition ready if and when someone should ask about Masonry. Remember Brothers, 2B1ASK1 is our basic rule.

Josh..

From the South: Ian Edwards

Greetings from the South!

Thank you brethren for moving me to the south, this is a big step for me and I promise I’ll do my best to serve you and our Lodge. I also want to thank my Stewards (DJ and Kevin), which are doing a wonderful job already this year in the kitchen and the upkeep of the Lodge. Were having a 2nd degree with a hot meal on the 29th of January 6:45 to eat and 7:30 for labor, hope you can come out and enjoy the fellowship and don’t forget on Mondays we have table Lodge so we practice upcoming degrees and our coaching committee is also working diligently to prepare our brothers for their catechisms.
